Knot-A Kennel
(Because we're not!)
This page is devoted to my Siberian Huskies,
Innisfree's Silver Lakota (Echo) &
Innisfree Carrickfergus (Shadow)
Echo joined us in November of 1996 and Shadow in May of 1998.
Echo is quite the queen, bred from show champions, she belongs in the conformation ring. She will, however, not have that pleasure since I am unable to campaign a show bitch. Instead she and I have been attending classes and we hope to earn our CD during 2004. She will either do quite well or prove very entertaining for those watching . . . it just depends on how she feels on a given day!
Shadow is quite different. He actually seeks human company! Relative to Echo's "royalty", he acts more the commoner. He is also descended from great lines, but would not be strong in conformation. He will do well in obedience as he has a willingness to please. I expect that, while much less entertaining, he will be a consistent performer when he gets to the ring.
I would also like to mention the memory of Sasha, our first Siberian. She joined us in October of 1982 and kept us company until October of 1996. She came to us without a pedigree, helped us raise our human kids and was a good friend for those fourteen years.
After joining the Yankee Siberian Husky Club we felt the need for a kennel name (at least I did). Ruling out names that had accounting or tax as their basis, I decided on the phrase, Knot-A Kennel, because we really are not a kennel. We are just a couple of humans with a couple of Siberian Huskies with no plans to grow. But it is fun to give out my kennel "business card"!
